Isuzu continues the “Isuzu Gives Water...for Life” project at the 44th location, Watpuangnimit School, Sa Kaeo Province

Isuzu Group Thailand by Mr. Takashi Hata, President of Tri Petch Isuzu Sales Co., Ltd. and Mr. Vijit Sodsa-ard, Director of Groundwater Resources Office, Region 9, Rayong, are committed to continuously developing beneficial things for society and the community. The latest delivery of a clean drinking water system in the “Isuzu Gives Water…for Life” project for the 12th year, at the 44th location, Watpuangnimit School, Sa Kaeo Province, to improve the quality of life of students and teachers in the school, as well as people in the community, reinforcing the corporate philosophy or “The Isuzu Spirit”, which is “Deliver Happiness, Prosperity to Users and Contribute to Society”

Mr. Takashi Hata, President of Tri Petch Isuzu Sales Co., Ltd. stated “As we know, the global economic crisis has severely affected almost every sector of business. The Thai automotive market is also facing a severe contraction, which has also affected the Isuzu Group’s businesses. However, we have made every effort to minimize the impact on our social activities and tried our best to make this project possible. For the “Isuzu Gives Water…for Life” project this year, we have added special equipment to the clean drinking water production process for schools: the installation of solar energy systems or solar cells. This initiative aligns with Isuzu’s commitment to carbon neutrality, which is the core policy, as well as supporting the Thai government’s approach on using renewable energy.”

Watpuangnimit school is a medium-sized school located in Khao Chakan District, Sa Kaeo Province, teaching from Kindergarten 1 to Mathayom 3 with more than 300 students, teachers, and staff in total. The school suffers from a drought during the dry season every year because it relies on the village's main water source for consumption. Whenever there is a shortage of water in a village, students and staff will suffer as well. Therefore, Isuzu sent a team to survey the problem and install a clean drinking water system consisting of a full scale underground water system, a standard clean drinking water filter system with a drinking water production center. Isuzu also provided training for designated staff on how to use, clean, and maintain the water system, as well as regularly checking the water quality to ensure it meets safety standards. This guarantees that students and school personnel can continuously access clean, hygienic drinking water and sustainably solve the drinking water problem. Moreover, for the “Isuzu Gives Water…for Life” project this year, Isuzu has added special equipment to the clean drinking water production process, namely the installation of a solar power system. This is in line with Isuzu’s commitment to Carbon Neutrality, which is the key policy, as well as supporting the Thai government’s objective of using renewable energy sources, while reducing the school’s electricity expenses by more than 3,000 baht per month.

Mr. Vijit Sodsa-ard, Director of Groundwater Resources Office, Region 9, Rayong, mentioned about the project that "“The “Isuzu Gives Water…for Life” project is a very good project. I am happy for the people, especially students and teachers. The cooperation between the government and the private sector has made this valuable project possible. I would like Isuzu to continue this project until it reaches every school that still experiences water shortage in Thailand.”

Mr. Sikarin Sawangwong, Director of Watpuangnimit school, talked about the water problem at the school, “Since I took up my position at Watpuangnimit school, the first problem I encountered was the water problem. In addition to the insufficient water for usage or drinking, there was also the problem of contaminated water. This was because it was surface water from a source adjacent to villagers' sugarcane and crop fields, where some farmers use herbicides. I would like to thank Isuzu and the Department of Groundwater Resources, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment on behalf of the students, teachers, and people in the community, for their kindness in organizing this project. Water is vital and is a main factor that contributes to the country's progress.”

The “Isuzu Gives Water…for Life” project is a long-term project that the Isuzu Group is committed to carrying out until no school in Thailand faces clean drinking water problems anymore, in order to give back to society with the goal of alleviating the suffering from the clean drinking water shortage, emphasizing the concept “Isuzu Trusted Buddy”, reaffirming the brand value to stand alongside customers and Thai society and to be a trusted brand that Thai customers can always trust in every step. We aim to bring happiness to Thai people and create awareness of the brand value to the Thai economy and society, which has grown continuously and is ready to stand sustainably alongside Thailand in the future.
