Level Up from Mechanic to Instructor
Hello everyone, my name is Oat. My work here started from being the first generation of interns at Tri Petch Isuzu Service. After being an intern for 2 years, I was given the opportunity to become a full-time employee. I started with the maintenance department for 1 year, and followed by the spare parts department for another year. After that, I was in the overhaul department for 10 years. Currently, I have been given the opportunity by the company to be an engine instructor at Tri Petch Training Department for more than 2 years. I remember when I first started working, I was very excited to be in a large workshop, and everything seemed new and interesting. I started as an assistant mechanic, trained in basic car maintenance, and gradually mastered every step.
The role of an engine teacher is very challenging because from being a student, I have to become a teacher. At the beginning I was very worried, but I would like to thank my friends and those around me who believed in me and always gave me advice, allowing me to adapt and perform my duties well. This role makes me very proud because I feel that I have created value for the company by being part of personnel development and inspiring them to have the same love for the mechanic profession as me. In addition, seeing my students grow and succeed is something that makes me very happy.
In addition to working in the workshop, I also had the opportunity to participate in new activities with Isuzu service centers nationwide, such as the Isuzu Skill Contest, Truck Solution, and Isuzu 4x4 Land. Throughout my career, I have learned many lessons, whether it be teamwork, problem solving, communication with others, and self-development in order to keep up with rapidly changing technology.
I am proud to work at this company. I met colleagues who are like a family that help each other. The welfare benefits here are among the top in the industry, including compensation, and medical expenses for myself and family members. Moreover, the company has given me the opportunity to use my work experience to help society, such as volunteering to help with the flood relief in 2011 and supporting good activities with Tri Petch Group, for example, the Isuzu One Make Race and the Isuzu Caravan.
From all that has been said, for me, the lesson learned from working is “always be open to new changes.” Even if we don’t know whether we can do it or not, at least we give it a shot. It’s better than closing ourselves off to opportunities.
Finally, I’d like to encourage everyone who is hesitant about the new opportunities that come their way. I’d like you to be open minded, it might make you see your own potential and opportunities for career growth.
